Crunchy Peanut Butter Biscuits (for dogs)

Makes: About 6 dozen small biscuits

2 1/2 cups / 360 grams whole-wheat flour

3  tablespoons crunchy peanut butter

3 tablespoons peanut (or other mild) oil

1 large egg

1/2 cup water

  1. Prep: Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix: Heap all ingredients in a bowl and, using brave fingers, knead to a moist dough. Alternatively, use the stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on low speed.

  3. Cut: Turn out dough onto work surface and pat to about 1/2-inch thick. Punch out bones, hearts, and other sweet shapes.

  4. Bake: Set shapes on prepared baking sheet. Bake until crunchy, about 45 minutes for large (3-inch), 40 minutes for medium (2-inch), and 35 minutes for small (1-inch) shapes. Cool. Serve, as it were.
